When Jesus was creating the whole earth and the heavens, how was He relating to Genesis 1:1?

2012-07-13 12:47 pm
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth"

Colossians Chapter 1:

The Supremacy of Christ

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
更新1:

And if God was actually working through a second party in Genesis 1, should that not be a bit more explicit?

I think this issue is the strongest support for Jesus indeed being in some sense part of GOD rather than separate from Him.

They are actually two seperate beings. Jesus assisted his father Jehovah in creating, under his guidance jesus made the things in the earth but Jehovah created the materials needed.

Reading Revelation 3:14 might help as it says : "And to the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ce´a write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God,"

Jesus was the first of Gods creation, that is why he is known as Gods only begotten, the only creation that God made direct, all other things were made through Jesus, so Jesus was there helping his father in creating, not that Jehovah needed the help but rather he allowed his son to share in creating,

So Jesus was the first of Gods creation then all other things came through Jesus, created by God THROUGH his only begotten son. So Jehovah God endowed Jesus with the ability to create, that is a great thing, is it not !

Now read "(Proverbs 8:22-25) 22 “Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago. 23 From time indefinite I was installed, from the start, from times earlier than the earth. 24 When there were no watery deeps I was brought forth as with labor pains, when there were no springs heavily charged with water. 25 Before the mountains themselves had been settled down, ahead of the hills, I was brought forth as with labor pains,

(Proverbs 8:30) 30 then I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was specially fond of day by day, I being glad before him all the time,

And Proverbs has been linked to Rev 3:14 right back from the first century which says (Revelation 3:14) 14 “And to the angel of the congregation in La·o·di·ce′a write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God,

I hope the penny has dropped!

Your question shows that you are reading the book of Genesis literally. This is an error.
It is the first of five books of the Old Testament are called the Pentateuch to Christians, and the Torah to Jews, and there is a history to it.
In 593 BC the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar I invaded Judea and carried away 2500 captives to Bablylon. He returned in 583 BC and burned down the Temple in Jerusalem and the original Pentateuch was destroyed in the fire. Again he took captives back to Babylonia.
In 539 BC, Cyrus the Great, the Persian King, conquered Babylon and Balshazzar (of writing on the wall fame) was killed. The Persian throne was usurped by Darius I, who released all the captives from Babylon. He appointed the Jewish scribe, Ezra, as Governor of Jerusalem, and sent him back to rebuild the Temple, which he did. As all the exiles had returned from Babylon he had no Pentateuch to teach them, so he gathered all the scribes together to rewrite it under his editorship, and it is believed that he wrote Leviticus himself.
The people of the Old World were not scientific and though the earth was a flat disc around which the universe revolved. This can be seen in the texts. They did not understand how the earth worked, so natural disasters were “Acts of God.” When it came to the start of the world, the scribes were stumped, so they had to use allegory to show that almighty God created all things. The scientific age started with Capernicus in 1530 AD and now people tend to use hindsight when they read the Bible, whereas they need the ancient mindset to understand what was actually being said.
History from elsewhere in the Middle East shows that Adam actually came from the Indus valley, north of Karachi on West Pakistan, which was then known as the Garden of Eden’ in 3065 BC. He was an adult when he met Eve in Sri Lanka and they both moved to the Holy Land. The disjointed story of Cain shows that other people were already on the earth so Adam could not have been ‘the first man on earth’. The divine birth of Adam was symbolic, as it was intended to show he was the First Hebrew.
The Pentateuch was written to teach faith, not scientific fact. Despite the allegory and symbolism used it pointed the same way as the other books of the Old Testament – towards the coming of Christ, whose divine birth was prophesied by Adam’s divine creation, and that is why Jesus is called the ‘Second Adam’.
In Revelation 22.16 Jesus says “I am the root and branch of David.”
In Matthew 22.41-46, also in Mark and Luke, Jesus asked the Pharisees this conundrum: How could the Messiah (the root) have preceded David if He was David's son (the offspring)? [His lineage from David was through Mary who was of the same tribe as Joseph, q.v. Numbers 36.8.] Here Jesus says that both statements are correct, showing that He was with God since the dawn of time.
It is clear that the creation of the world in Genesis is not literal, since no human being was there at the beginning. Instead we know it came from a series of events which started with the Big Bang, and resulted in our solar system being formed.
Now even scientists are associating the Big Bang with almighty God as they think they have discovered the Higgs Boson, which is called "the God partical."

God and Jesus are the same person. Have you heard of The Trinity?

John 10:30 (King James Version)

30 I and my Father are one.

GOD, being Jahovah or YHWH, did NOT use anyone to help with the Creation.

The Scripture you quoted, is not exactly the whole truth. A perfect example of how satan used scribes to confuse and deceive.

The Supremacy of Christ happened after Creation and when satan was showing signs that he was against GOD. Paul writes about Christ being the image of the invisible GOD, because Christ lived in His own Spirit through the physical body.

Lucifer was number one Son prior to his behavior change, and because he is now considered dead in GOD'S eyes, he is no longer being spoken of in that capacity. You can see examples of this in Genesis 5 where the descendants are spoken about. You will notice in verse 6-8 When Seth was 105, he had a son, Enosh, 7 and then lived another 807 years. He had other children, and died at the age of 912.

"The other children" are not mentioned because they didn't walk in fellowship with GOD. A separation of people, have already began.

GOD Bless

Genesis 1:26

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Jesus clearly is a pre-existent being.

genesis 1 talks in the plural of God creating the Earth using the Hebrew word Elohim, and God also says to Himself let US make man in OUR image.

Open and shut case - Jesus is GOD. There is a plurality to the person(s) of God, and yet He is one God.
