Peter leapt to his feet = Peter used his feet to jumpI will nap off = I will sleep
straw sieve = the plastic tube which we use to drink

1. you know when the teacher accuses you of stealing something and to stand straight up on your feet VERY QUICKLY? That was what Peter did--sprang up/leapt to his feet.
