students can choose to play either basketball or football in a PE lesson. The no. of students playing football is 40% less than those playing basketball. What is the percentage of students playing basketball?

Let x be the % of students playing basketball.% of students playing football = x(1 - 40%) = 0.6x. % of students playing basketball + % of students playing football = 100%x + 0.6x = 100%1.6x = 100%x = 62.5% ∴ 62.5% of studentsplay basketball I HOPE THIS CAN HELP YOU! ^_^
