The name is usually spelled as Leah. I like it best this way, as it's biblical and much more meaningful. Lia would also be pronounced as LEE-uh, not as LIE-uh as some have told you. It rhymes with the names Mia, Nia, Gia, Tia, and Pia, all of which are pronounced with the EE-uh sound. I dislike this spelling, though, as all the -ia names tend to look rather small and insignificant to me. Lia would be cute on a child, but Leah is a stronger name and would work better on someone of any age.
