If I did not make mistakes,
it should be
5-hydroxy-2,3-dimethylhept-5-enal

To 。文。
alphabetical order does not count the numeral prefix
i.e. the "di-" , "tri-", "tetra-" etc. are not counted in the alphabetical order
that is for "dimethyl", it is still concern as "m"-opening but not "d"-opening

This actually is a common mistake =]

cuz the oxygen will take away electrons from the electron-rich C-C double bond?

Just to mind anyone interested that typical enol (hydroxy attached on carbon in C=C ) are not very stable; it'll tautomerize into ketone:
C=C-OH <===---> CH-C(=O)

I think you're right, but I'm no proffesion in this area, so no conclusion could be made.

The tautomerism ca be acid- or base-catalyzed.
And there're exceptions, usually due ot resonance-stabilization; a well-known example is phenol.
