IF的將來式,點分別咩時候用will,咩時候用will be

If the word follows “will” is a “verb”, there is no “be” .

e.g. If you fail the examination, your mum will scold (verb) you.

If the word follows “will” is an “adjective”, there is “be”.

e.g. If you fail the examination, your mum will be sad (adjective).

e.g. I will not come (verb).

I will be absent (adjective).

2 situations:
1) passive voice:
If you kill him, you will definitely be jailed.
2) when you use an adjective
If you fail the test, your teacher will be sad.

sometimes, people wish to use a continuous tense (future continuous) as well.

how to decide on the usage:
- think of how you will present it in PRESENT tense
eg. You are jailed. ("are" is a form of "be", so you must use be in future tense ie. You will be jailed)
eg. Your teacher is sad. ("is" is a form of "be", so same rule applies.)
