A space station orbits around the Earth in a circular orbit at an altitude of 350 km.

1. Is it stationary as seen from the Earth?

2. Has the gravitational force from Earth done work on the station?

Please explain briefly.

1. No. A parking orbit (i.e. an orbit in which the satellite is observed to be stationary from on earth surface) has an altitude of 36,000 km, an altitude of 350 km is thus not a parking orbit.

2. No. The gravitational force acts perpendicualr to the direction of velocity of the space station, hence does no work.
