There are two run-off candidates for the second round. One is from the Muslim Brotherhood and the other was an official under Mubarak. No revolution candidates.
A presidential election was held in Egypt on 23 and 24 May 2012. Mohamed Morsi, chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party, and Ahmed Shafik, a former Prime Minister of Egypt, received the most votes and will contest a runoff election on 16 and 17 June.It was the second presidential election in Egypt's history with more than one candidate, following the 2005 election, and the first presidential election after the 2011 Egyptian revolution during the Arab Spring.
