okay so what are the requirements? do you have to go to court at all, im living with a single parent that needs to be at work by a certain time thats earlier than my school starts, i have no other form of transportation. Bus is out of the question since i'm a transfer student and they don't provide transportation.

That hardship license in TX is the dream of the American Youth - but in reality, it's extremely difficult to get.

Your LEGAL GUARDIAN must go with you, sign approval, and promise to pay your insurance costs. Not just some single parent you live with.

Also, you being a transfer student, isn't going to fly - you can always transfer back to your local school district, and get bussed.

In reality, the hardship license is for kids of ranchers, that have 50 miles to go to get to school in the morning. Not for city kids that want to drive. So, it's mostly about location, location, location.

Can a friend's parent pick you up? Maybe you can pay him or her to do you the favor. Or your parent will need to make special arrangements to possibly arrive later to work to take you to school. Maybe your parent can work through lunch or cut down their lunch time to make up for the lost time. And if all the above doesn't work transfer back to the school you are zoned to so that you have transportation.

Why can't you just go to the school you are zoned to?
