英文倒裝句寫法

Certain adverbs and adverbial phrases with negative and restrictive meaning (e.g. hardly, never, seldom, not only, at no time, no sooner, only when, under no circumstances, etc.) can be used at the beginning of the sentence for emphasis. This can be done by reversing the subject and verb, as in question forms. It is called inversion. 倒裝句

Never should we waste the food. (inversion) 正確
= We should never waster the food.

Never could we buy the toy. (inversion) 正確

Hardly see the moon I am. 錯
Hardly can/could I see the moon. (更正)
= I can/could hardly see the moon.

Seldom has enough food for the student. 錯，句子沒有主語 subject
Seldom does the canteen have enough food for the students. (更正)
=The canteen seldom has enough food for the students.

Hardly are the students staying school. 錯，stay = 不及物動詞
Hardly are the students staying at school. (更正)

Not only is Ken a science teacher, but (he) also is a professor in the university. (更正)
