USAF officer job function?

The same as any civilian job. Your a middle manager overseeing a dept. of workers. They maybe mechanics, weathermen, supply room people, etc.

You would only directly supervise one or 2 senior enlisted and maybe one junior enlisted for your clerk, although you could ask more junior enlisted to do something on occasion, It's called manage, not micro manage.
