a) No. of moles of H2SO4 = 196 x 0.1/98 = 0.2

From the equation:

Mg + H2SO4 -> MgSO4 + H2

1 mole of Mg reacts completely with 1 mole of H2SO4.

Hence, no. of moles of magnesium left = 8/24 - 0.2 = 2/15

with mass = 2/15 x 24 = 3.2 g

b) NO. of moles of H2 produced = 0.2

So vol. = 0.2 x 24 = 4.8 dm3
