Does METFORMIN helps reduce fats?

Just wanna ask about these medicine (METFORMIN) I'm taking metformin for about 1 year and half because I had polycystic ovary disease and Im fat..Does it helps me reduce my fats or gain weight??

It doesn't do anything with fat. It just helps the body manage insulin better. If you're eating a high fat diet, Metformin isn't going to help you with that. You yourself can reduce your fat intake.

Metformin is thought to promote insulin sensitivity, which can reduce insulin levels in a person with insulin resistance. Lower insulin levels may help with weight loss. Sometimes I get thumbs down for this, so I'll explain. Insulin is a hormone critical for survival. Without it, you'll die. When you have the right amount of it for your energy needs, there's no issue at all. Everything is balanced. For people with insulin resistance, though, there's often too much. Insulin in excess can lead to more fat storage on the body, especially on the belly, and I don't think many people understand this metabolic problem who have never had to deal with severe insulin resistance. If you have IR, it can be INCREDIBLY hard to lose weight, and following a high-carbohydrate diet is only going to force your pancreas to make more insulin. Even if you are calorie deficient, you will have insulin surplus. And if you're diabetic like me, you'll also have higher glucose levels from a diet like that.

Metformin isn't magic, so you do have to follow the right kind of diet for it to work effectively, but if your weight gain is primarily from IR, it can have some effect. It doesn't work on everyone, of course, and I'm not sure if that's because we all react to drugs differently or if some people aren't on the right diet for their metabolic needs. The diet I need to follow to lose weight isn't the same diet that a person with a normal metabolism does, and I'm really tired of being told otherwise. I can't lose weight eating whole grains and fruit. I can only lose weight when I load up on bacon, cheese, and veggies. So that's what I do and I'm down over 150 pounds now.

That's what they say, but I have no noticed anything regarding weight loss.
