Can we prepare soluble salts such as potassium chloride or sodium sulphate by reacting potassium or sodium metal with corresponding acid?

No, the reaction between sodium (or potassium) and acid solution isEXPLOSIVE !

no since the reaction is explosive, you better use potassium oxide or hydroxide to do so
