It's probably more of an issue with your computer settings than your projector. If the computer is plugged in, you should look for the "input" button on the projector - it may be an actual button on the projector or remote, or it may be part of a menu. Here are a couple Sanyo manuals (not your exact model, but maybe they will help)

On the computer, you may have to adjust your display settings. How to reach those depends on your operating system, but try control panels or right clicking on the desktop. Windows has its own display control panel, but your video card may have an independent control. You might have to use one or the other or both!
You may need to adjust the resolution - if that's the issue, you would probably have to go lower.
You may need to set the computer to output to two screens.
You may need to tell it to clone on the second screen (not extend the desktop).
