Why is the sentence, "I feel difficult" incorrect?

This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm trying to explain to one of my ESL students why it's incorrect. "Difficult" is an adjective, but so is "frustrated." Why is it correct to say, "I feel frustrated," but not to say, "I feel difficult"...?

Sometimes I think we know our language, but don't always know WHY something is. And English has so many irregularities, so that doesn't help. Is this just an irregular adjective or is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!!

Living Higher: Let me elaborate...I am an ESL tutor, not sub. I tutor over the phone for 10 and 20 minute classes. There are several different TYPES of adjectives: Articles (Not technically adjectives, but these determiners tell you more about the noun they describe so they act like an adjective), Characteristic, physical descriptive (color/size/cost), derived (from nouns, like smell-- smelly), nouns (INTERNET course, TRADE union, etc.), adjectives of origin (WOODEN spoon), compound (POST-MODERN art), numbers, time, feeling, etc. The answer I was looking for was which of these TYPES would "difficult" fall under? I already explained to him that difficult is not a feeling adjective, but I'm unsure which type of adjective it falls under and I'd like to know before our next lesson. So next time, before jumping to the conclusion and using your negative attitude to try and hurt someone else, try thoroughly answering a question (or not answering at all). Also, Living High

Also, Living High, perhaps you should live a little LESS high and get off your high horse...hm? Thank you for the civilized and educated answer, Bluebellbkk. :)

you dont feel difficult

difficult is not an emotion. not all adjectives are feelings. I can't believe you're an ESL teacher... this is a serious problem...
