Flowers to a gal for birthday?

She is my classmate, and I'm one of her good friends. She is going to throw a party, but I want to give her a gift. She is single and I like her, but I don't like her enough to chase her. Can I just buy her a dozen of flowers (not red roses, but some other colors) as birthday gift?

ya offcourse,if she likes flowers. And i think the pink colour flower with sweet aroma is best for her birthday gift, no matter if u buy dozen or only a single pice.
