(a) f(-2) = 0 by remainder theorem(b) 3x - 1 = -2 => x = -1/3
Sub. x = -1/3 into f(3x - 1), we have f(-2) = 0. So, x = -1/3 is a root of f(3x - 1) by factor theorem and thus x + 1/3 is a factor of f(3x - 1).
