Why are they so lucky? Why do they have the opportunities that I don't?

Why are people so lucky that they get to choose the best stuff (everything in life) out there, whereas I'm always stuck with leftovers or crap that people don't want? What did I do wrong to deserve this? I want to be one of those who gets to pick the good stuff out of the pool.
