In the figure, AB, CD and EF are parallel to the y-axis. BC, DE and FG are parallel to the x-axis. If the coordinates of A and G are (-6, -3) and (11, 5) respecively, find the length of the path ABCDEFG.

EF=RG
AB+CD+EF=PQ+QR+RG=PG=11-(-6)=17
By similar argument,
BC+DE+FG=AP=5-(-3)=8
The length of the path ABCDEFG is:
AB+BC+CD+DE+EF+FG
=(AB+CD+EF)+(BC+DE+FG)
=17+8
=25
