Reader 除了解”讀者”.之外, 還可以解”讀物”, “讀本”Reader = a book containing simple pieces of writing, exercises etc, used by people who are learning to read or learning a language

A reader is the person who reads. A reader cannot be on the shelf like a dictionary. May be you should fix that problem before you fix the verb problem.
