F3 MATHS (interest,principle)

Mr. To deposits $ 2,000,000 in a bank and the simple interest he will receive after 2 years is $ 400,000. He than deposits the total amount ( $ 2,400,000) in another bank which offers the same interest rate but the interest is compound half-yearly. What amount will he receive after 2 more years?

因為interest=principle x interest rate (%) x t (period)
所以我是這樣算 400000=2000000xN%x2 計interest rate
計到interest rate 是 1%

2400000x(1+1%/2)^4=最後amount是$2448361.202

麻煩告訴我有沒有算錯,因為我覺得答案怪怪的= ="謝謝!!

Forthe first two years (simple interest) :
Principal, P = $2,000,000
Interest rate, R% = ?
No. of periods, n = 2
Amount, A = $2,400,000

A = P x (1 + n x R%)
2,400,000 = 2,000,000 x (1 + 2 x R%)
1 + 2 x R% = 1.2
2 x R% = 0.2
R% = 0.1 x 100%
R% = 10%


=====
For the last two years (compound interest) :
Principal, P = $2,400,000
Interest rate, R% = 10%/2 = 5%
No. of periods, n = 2 x 2 = 4
Amount, A = ?

A = P x (1 + R%)^n
A = $2,400,000 x (1 + 10%)^4
A = $2,400,000 x (1.1)^4
A = $3,513,840

The amount he will receive after 2 more years = $3,513,840
