In my opinion, "sacrifice many things" is better than "sacrifice everything", although it is different from the Chinese original. Many things is more close to everyday language.

Concentrating on the academic study is my first priority rather than falling in love. I would prefer to sacrifice everything without any hesitation.

Failure in love with other people enable me to get zero confidence on trusting each other, and to eventually harm myself for sure.
