Well actually, you can still swim. Life can go on with a period. In fact, exercise has proven to help relieve period cramps. However, do NOT wear a pad in the water- wear a tampon or a menstrual cup. Trust me, you can play sports, I feel really suckish and don't want to go play basketball at first, then I come out happy because I had a good time and my cramps are gone for a few hours afterward.

Alternatively, you can miss it if you really feel the need to. You don't have to tell the teacher if you don't want to- just say something has come up and you can't participate tomorrow. If you want to tell the teacher, don't do the diary thing, you can either just say,

"My period has begun. I'm sorry, but I can't swim today."

Or you can write a note with a short message saying,

"I feel embarrassed telling you this, but I have started my period. I don't feel comfortable swimming today.

Signed, (your name)"

I really hope I helped.

P.S. When I really don't want to play basketball, I use the 'something has come up' excuse because I can't tell Coach- he's a grown man!

Don't do that. Say 'Miss i can't swim today, im on' and if she doesnt get it say 'my period'

Look there is no reason you need to be scared of tampons,
I don't know why so many girls are scared.
They are designed to work, and they should work.

Don't make excuses, Use a tampon.

I know it might seem like something thats really embarrassing, but it's quite normal. Just tell him/her that you're on your period and you don't feel comfortable going into the pool he/she will understand. My P.E teacher used to have our moms write us a note and then we'd be excused from the pool for the week ... Maybe you can ask your mom to write you a note and then you can show your teacher.

It shouldn't be a big deal at all to a mature grown-up. Just tell them in private if you're embarrassed. Or could your parent tell them for you?

Also, if you feel comfortable, you can wear a tampon in the water. Then you won't have to say anything to your teacher.

Please don't be embarrassed. I'm sure your teacher is trained to deal with this, and has probably heard it many times before. Don't show your diary to the teacher. Just explain your predicament. Best of luck to you!

don't do the diary thing. Just say you can't swim because you have personal problems. they'll get it. Or learn to use tampons.

Stick a tampon up your vagina. Best way to learn is to have to use one. You don't have to tell your teacher, just use a tampon.
