1. why sometimes demical place is considered but sometimes significant fig. is considered?

1. As a general rule, error should be taken to 1 significant figure. The result should be taken to the same place (or decimal place) as the error.

Since the error is +/- 0.3 m/s^2, the value of g should be taken to one place after decimal, i.e. same decimal plac as the error. Thus g =9.8 m/s^2

2. How do you get this formula?
The correct forumla is 2d = m入
or d = m入/2
You cannot relate m (which is an integer) by 1/tan(theta)

Chauchau, you haven't realized that the "d" in your formula represents the separation between two consecutive fringes, but not the thickness of air wedge.
