Another way to do it:
x = ㏒2 √8, y = ㏒4 32
2^x = (2^3)^(1/2), 2^x = 2^(3/2), x = 1.5
(2^2)^y = 2^5, 2y = 5, y = 2.5
x – y = 1.5 – 2.5 = -1
x = ㏒2 √8, y = ㏒4 32
2^x = (2^3)^(1/2), 2^x = 2^(3/2), x = 1.5
(2^2)^y = 2^5, 2y = 5, y = 2.5
x – y = 1.5 – 2.5 = -1
