a)Let T be the number of marbles owned by Teresa , thenn : T = 5 : 2
n / T = 5 / 2
5T = 2n
T = (2/5)nSo Teresa have (2/5)n marbles.
b)If Susan gives 18 of her own marbles to Teresa , then
Susan have n - 18 marbles while Teresa have (2/5)n + 18 marbles .So
n - 18 = (2/5)n + 18
n - (2/5)n = 36
(3/5)n = 36
n = 60
