70% x 80% is only one of the solutions,
There can be a range of solutions exist if we think about it in terms of set theory. Draw the 2 sets and you can get this.
Maximally, there are 70% of people pass A and B. I.e. everyone who passes A also passes B; 10% only pass B and 20£ fails both
Minimally, there are 50% of those pass A & B. I.e. 20% pass A only; 30% pass B only; and, no one fails both.
