Ketone(or ketene) is only the type of this compound.

To name this compound,
1) we look for its functional group, and find the suffix
when we see the >C=C=O group, we know it is a ketene, which is end with -enone
2) Then we count the no. of C-atom in the carbon chain, then work out the prefix
With two C-atom, we know that its prefix eth-

So, to be accurate, this is a compound called ethenone.

It can be polymerized (readily).

如果題目問的是C2H2O,你的答案便沒有問題
但題目已明確地給出該化合物的結構,所以,那不可以是alkynol或epoxide類的化合物,要小心看題呀

formula 是C2H2O 的alkynol 叫乙炔醇ethynol (你串錯左)
而formula 是C2H2O epoxide 叫環氧乙烯oxirene

There are 3 different structures according to your formulations :
1)ethenone O=C=CH2 .
2)ethylnol HCtriplebond with other C-OH
3)Epoxide the oxygen is forming a ring structure with two carbons .

Since the three structures having double , triple bond & ring structures , polymerization is highly possible .

I think it is a ketone. The rightmost carbon is double-bonded to the oxygen atom and form two covalent bonds to other two carbon atoms (Although they are the same one.) .

Possible to be polymerized
