I thought pantyhose would keep my legs warm?

It's very cold today, and I did a test that I always wanted to do. I wore a pair of pantyhose under my pants to check whether it could keep my legs warm, but I was disappointed - it didn't work at all. Why do ladies still wear them in such cold weather?

when its very cold I do wear tights my self. yes they do wonders under pants. they are not as bulky as thermals and actually do wonders from waist down. i have like 6 pairs of tights.hose might be ok if its a bit cold but for real cold tights all the way, coming from a male

Because then we can wear short skirts without looking weird in December. Duh. I don't care about keeping warm, I care about wearing a cute skirt without looking like a freak.

I bet your legs were warmer than if you went without. Next time, cut one leg off of the pantyhose and see if you feel a difference then. I bet you will!

It's kinda dumb that they do. They're much too thin to warm you up. Try footed tights, I wear them all the time, and they keep me warm(:

Sometimes pantyhose can actually have a cooling effect depending what type of pants your wearing over them as well as the denier of your pantyhose .
