Dilute and concentrated HNO3 can react with Cu, Hg and Ag but not Au.
Dilute and concentrated HNO3 are strong oxidizing agents that can oxidize these metals to give metal ions. However, Au is too unreactive that cannot react with both dilute and concentrated HNO3 to give metal ion.
Concentrated H2SO4 is also a strong oxidizing agent which behaves similarly as dilute and concentrated HNO3 mentioned above.
However, dilute and concentrated HCl and dilute H2SO4 only exhibits acidic property. Without strong oxidizing power as dil./conc.HNO3 and conc. H2SO4, these acids are too weak to oxidize the metals to metal ions. So reactions between these acids and the metals would not take place.
