a. It depends on the size of crystal you want to collect.
Evaporation of hot solution -> larger
Evaporation under room temp -> smaller
It is because in hot condition, the salts are more concentrated that come closer to each other, therefore forming larger crystal is possible.

b. Both apparatuses are good enough for distillation of sea water in lab. But (ii) is a more effective one due to the presence of condenser.

c. I could only give you one for each question.
1. Separation of salts (e.g. NaCl)
2. Separation of precipitate from solution
3. Separation of water
4. Separation of sediment (waste)
5. Separation of chemicals (e.g. dye)
6. same as 1.
