How should I react when given a present?

When I'm given a present, I always feel really awkward opening it, and shy away from the person once I've opened it. I cant exactly react like I did when I was little and was given toys, as I'm now 13 (and obviously no longer given toys) and just don't know how I should react any more. I ether shy away, or stare at it. I don't do well in situations like this, so how should I react when I'm given a present?
更新1:

I'm not being ungrateful, I genuinely do not know how to react! I just don't know how to show I am happy with the gift. I would never turn round and say I dislike the gift, I just don't know what to say or how to react when opening presents.

I have that problem too! It doesn't matter if it's something I didn't want or the best gift in the world; I just don't know how to react.... I obviously don't know how to help you, but you aren't alone!

Just say "Thank You".

It is a gift. Someone spent time and money thinking about YOU. Be grateful. That is all you need to do.

You could also add "that was very generous" , "I apreciiate it"

I usually smile a lot and turm to the person who has gicen it to me and say "Thank you so much, that's really kind of you/I love it/it's just what I wanted".If you have some stck phrases and vary them for each person, they will feel you like them. I know you do like them, it can be difficult to act appropriately pleased when you get a lot - it's like when people sing Happy Birthday and you don't know where to look. But the key is to smile and say how much you like what they've got you.

Merry Christmas!
