Find equation(s) of straight lines that are parallel to 4x - 3y = 8 and with a space of 4 units.

To : Lost Gor. Space means perpendicular distance between the lines is 4 units.

As the slope should be the same, let the required equation is
4x - 3y + c = 0

Then choose one point from 4x - 3y = 8. e.g (5,4)

Then |4(5) - 3(4) + c|/5 = 4

|c + 8| = 20

c = 12 or c = -28

So, the required equation are

4x - 3y + 12 = 0 or 4x - 3y - 28 = 0

firstly 你將4x - 3y = 8 變做y=mx+c先

即y=4x/3-8/3

如果距離4單位 而斜率一樣 即係y=mx+c 既m一樣 c+-4


所以equation(s) of straight :

y=4x/3-8/3+4 同y=4x/3-8/3-4

=> y=4x/3-4/3同 y=4x/3-20/3
