Miss Cheung asked the class to keep quiet.

The teacher asked the students if they finished cleaning their classroom.

3.'are you disappointinted at you results?' lilian asked me.
Lilian asked me if I am disappointed at my results.

4.The teacher said to her students,'Do you sing in your leisure time ?'
The teacher asked her students whether they sang in their leisure time.

5.I asked a Japanese friend,'Have you ever been to a chinese restaurant?'
I asked a Japanese friend if (whether) he has ever been t a chinese restaurant.,

6.Anne asked Irene,'Do you really understand the problem?'
Anne asked Irene whether (if) she really undestood the problem.

reported speech or indirect speech (if and whether) do have the same meaning. We have to see the question if or whether can be used or both of them can be used.

有兩個改法,1個係同時態咁轉(冇咁正式),1個係改前1個時態,例如現在轉過去,過去轉過去完成式(最正式)
1 Miss Cheung asked the class to keep quiet.
2 The teacher asked the students (that) if/whether they had finished cleaning their classroom.
3 Lilian asked me whether I was disappointed by my results
要注意代名詞,you→ they(the students)/I(me). your→their/my
