Make it simple - ask your bank to issue an cashier's cheque drawn in USD.And tell them bank that the cheque is intended to mail to the U.S.
They will do the rest.

I suggest you to ask your bank for information.
Since you need to money in USD, it won't be a check comes out for your regular checkbook. You need to buy a money order or bank checks in USD. I think most large banks may provide this service.
If you want to be safe, go to one of the International banks such as HSBC, BOA or Citi and buy a registered check,. You do not need to have an account there. You give them cash, and they give you a check of that amount.
