1. Option C
Statement (3) three is wrong because the two forces are acting in the same direction.

2. option D
Statement (2) is wrong because the gravitational pull on Vic Chan equals to his weight, i.e. 60g N (=588.6 N, if take g = 9.81 m/s2)

For Statement (3), acceleration = (678.6 - 588.6)/60 m/s2 = 1.5 m/s2

3. Option B
Statement (1) is wrong becuse the gravitational pull always equals to the weight of the man.
Statement (2) is wrong because the gravitational pull on the lift always equals to the weight of the lift.

how about the weight?
as i account it as "mass" instead of "force"
if i am correct, (b) should be incorrect.
