Calculate the reative atomic mass of the metal X.

XCO3 + 2HCl → XCl2 + H2O+ CO2

No. of moles of HCl = 0.25 x (40/1000) = 0.01 mol

No. of moles of XCO3 = 0.01 x (1/2) = 0.005 mol

Molar mass of XCO3 = 0.985/0.005 = 197 g/mol

Relative atomic mass of X = 197 - (12 + 16x3) = 137
