書的內容主要描述關於中國的一切，首先我會先講述書中的中國飲食文化。
中國菜非常強調色、香、味俱佳。這既是一道菜的標準，也是一席菜的標準。中國菜烹調方法非常多，有涼拌、炒、蒸、煮、煎、炸、燜、焗、燉、煨、燒等幾十種，每一種又可分為好多小類。

中國菜的特點被總結為：色、香、、味、意、形。被稱為國菜五品。按烹飪特點分又可分為：選料、刀工、火候和調味四個方面。幾乎所有能吃的東西，都可以做為中國菜的食材。但食材的選擇關係到菜品的質量。

接著，我便說說書內其中所描述中國的傳統節日，春節、元宵節、清明節、端午節、七夕節、中秋節和重陽節，都是中國傳統節日，這些節日形式多樣，內容豐富，且各有特色。每個節日及習俗都有其來歷，隨著歷史的演變，內容也在不斷豐富。其中春節是中國傳統上的重大節日。為了迎接新的一年，家家戶戶忙於大掃除、貼門神、掛春聯、預備團年飯。新的一年剛到，各種慶祝活動便一個接一個的，舞獅子、維港放煙花、觀賞花燈……那種熱鬧的氣氛。
