Types of writing in UE (E)

In Section E, these types of writing are common: Descriptive Writing The primary purpose of descriptive writing is to describe a person, place, or event so that the topic can be clearly seen in the reader's mind. The writer must use vivid details that paint a picture for the reader. Expository Writing The primary purpose of expository writing is to provide information such as an explanation or directions e.g. business writing, comparison and contrast writing, informative writing, literary response, process writing, research writing and technical writing. Narrative Writing The primary purpose of narrative writing is to describe an experience, event, or sequence of events in the form of a story e.g. personal narrative writing. Persuasive Writing The primary purpose of persuasive writing is to give an opinion and try to influence the reader's way of thinking with supporting evidence e.g. argumentative writing.
