IPhone 4 vs iPhone 4s....?

iPhone 4S is basically the same thing as the iPhone 4, with a few hardware modifications.

Camera is bumped to 8MP as opposed to 5MP on the iPhone 4. Larger aperture (I love that word.) and more focal lens are put within the camera for a greater resolution and greater production of pictures.

Video Camera on the iPhone 4S now supports 1080p and also supports face detection and stabilization effect to make recordings look as still as possible, this works pretty well when you're walking while recording something. The iPhone 4 lacks image stabilization during video recording, and only supports up to 720p.

Siri is a new feature introduced to iPhone 4S, which works like a voice assistant. It's fun to play with and can be very useful once you get the hang of all of its functions. The iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4 can get this too, but only through a jailbreak. The iPhone 4S is the only device right now that gets full functionality of Siri.

iPhone 4S now has an Apple A5 dual-core chip as its processor unit for both graphics and computing, which is much faster than the A4 used in iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4. This is significant if you want to do more with your phone in top speed (more multitasking), and play more graphics-intense gaming.

iPhone 4S supports both CDMA and GSM within the same phone, making it a world phone. This means you no longer need to have one CDMA phone and GSM phone to go to distant places. This basically means you can go anywhere in the world with the phone, and it will automatically switch to the right cellular reception based on where you are. The iPhone 4 only comes in CDMA-only or GSM-only.


So overall, the iPhone 4S just takes whatever was lacking from iPhone 4's current form factor (nitpicking from Apple themselves) and put it in the same design. If this is your first iPhone, get the iPhone 4S. If you want to save some money, get the iPhone 4. It's pretty much the same deal, except if you're picky with performance/multitasking and camera/recording quality, get the 4S.

Oh, and the battery consumption issue is something that is in fault with iOS 5, not the actual iPhone 4S. Other devices, like my iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4 are having battery issues as well once upgraded to iOS 5. Apple is working on it and will release the battery fix in iOS 5.0.1.

The battery issue has been on some iPhone 4s, not all. It's a software as opposed to hardware issue that runs the battery down faster than it should. Apple is working on a software update for that.

Siri is new and amazing. Dual core processor is better than the single core on the 4. 4s also moved to an 8MP camera from the 5MP. iOS5 with iCloud is available on the 4, so no difference there.

Personally, I would go with the 4s for the small financial increase and overall improvements.

You could, as somebody pointed out, wait for the next iPhone. But by the time that comes out, why not wait for the one after that? Except by the time the one after that comes out, there will be another one coming out. Get the best of what's out now and that's the 4s.

The iphone 4s is better. That's what you exspect because it's a year newer. It has 3 more megipixels and 1080p vs 720p video so not much better at all. Also there is siri. It's persanol assitent thing my dad has but it's eats up all your data. If you are willing to spend 100 more for the 4s then get it. Remember the 4 only comes in 8 gig so be aware if you need more space. I have the iphone 4 and i have the 16 and i use about 13 of that. I'm thinking about giving up my Android for an iPhone. I've heard that the iPhone 4s is better than the iPhone 4 but the battery life is worse. Is the 4s worth getting regardless of losing battery life faster.

The 4s is better. The 4 has just had its last update (7.1.2 I believe) and doesn't run 7 very well. The 4s has Siri, a faster processor and is getting iOS8.

In my opinion I think the iphone 4 is a good phone it's just the same as a iPhone 4s although iPhone 4s has Siri and a better camera but the iphone 4 it's worth to buy it's more cheap and it's useful
