請問被單的英文怎麼說??

被子的英文是"duvet"，被單是"duvet cover"，這裡的被子指的是我們平常家裡用的那種白色棉被。

如果是直接蓋在身上不用裝被單的是"blanket".

另外床單(bed sheet)也有兩種，直接鋪上去的叫"flat sheet"，四角有彈力可以罩住四個床墊角的叫"fitted sheet".

Actually, duvet is the old French word for down, and duvet is no different from a down comforter.
However, people in the US refer duvet as the cover for the comforter, whereas in the UK or other European countries, people refer duvet as the down comforter itself.

簡單點來說，"duvet"一詞在不同國家有不同意思。
在美國，"duvet"一般指被單，就是可以換下並拿去洗的那部份，但在英國（及部份歐洲國家），當我們說"duvet"時我們指的是絨毛被褥本身，而"duvet cover"才是被單。

"duvet"一詞在古法文是“絨毛”的意思，現在泛指"a soft quilt filled with down, feathers, or a synthetic fiber, used instead of an upper sheet and blankets"（厚絨毛制褥墊），所以我相信"duvet"一詞就是你所指的“（絨毛）被胎”。

床墊 ＝ mattress

被子 ＝ duvet / comforter（duvet裡面塞的是絨毛；comforter則可以塞其他東西，所以duvet是comforter的一種）

被單 ＝ duvet cover（美國：duvet）

毯子 ＝ blanket（不用套被單直接蓋身上的）

枕頭 ＝ pillow

枕頭套 ＝ pillow case

床單 ＝ bed sheet（其中fitted sheet是用來包住床墊的，flat sheet則是再鋪在fitted sheet上，或者睡覺時拿來蓋在身上然後再蓋被子）

bed cover：床罩，旅館內大多有。

quilt：涼被、針織被、披毯、拼布被.....統稱棉被，不一定需要cover。
comforter Cover：要塞被胎的"被單"，保暖用的，薄一點，而裡頭的被胎就叫comforter。
duvet covers：duvet 源自法文，是屬於comforter的一種內充羽毛的較厚的被胎。

被子最恰當的稱呼應是quilt或comforter.
duvet是加蓋在被子上面的薄被, 也可單獨當被子用, 有的帶有鈕釦可扣在comforter/quilt上面, 一方面增加暖度, 一方面可擋灰塵保持comforter/quilt清潔.
也有人把duvet當墊被來用.
至於被單、被套, 隨被子的型態各自稱為quilt cover, comforter cover, 或duvet cover.
