Police Officer in the UK

Question:
How do you tell the difference between a British Police Officer, an Australian Police Officer and an American Police Officer?

Answer:
First - Lets pose the following question:

You're on duty by yourself walking on a deserted street late at night.
Suddenly, an armed man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and lunges at you.
You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an expert shot, however you have only a split second to react before he reaches you.

What do you do?

BRITISH POLICE OFFICER:

Firstly the officer must consider the man's Human Rights.
1) Does the man look poor or oppressed?
2) Is he newly arrived in this country and does not yet understand the law?
3) Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
4) Am I dressed provocatively?
5) Could I run away?
6) Could I possibly swing my gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
7) Should I try and negotiate with him to discuss his wrong doings?
8) Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?
9) Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society?
10) Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
11) If I were to grab his knees and hold on, would he still want to stab and kill me?
12) If I raise my gun and he turns and runs away, do I get blamed if he falls over, knocks his head and kills himself? .
13) If I shoot and wound him, and lose the subsequent court case, does he have the opportunity to sue me, cost me my job, my credibility and the loss of my family home?

AUSTRALIAN POLICE OFFICER:

BANG!

AMERICAN POLICE OFFICER:

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! 'click'....
(Sergeant arrives at scene later and remarks: 'Nice grouping!)

Mm, not so difficult. Of course you should go BANG. You're being attacked and in such a case most countries will have some law in place that you're allowed to defend yourself if you feel your life is threatened, and that in that case you may even resort to measures that seem out of proportion, also if you're not a police officer on duty.
In this case the officer is on duty, which will make a use of his gun even more justified. Every situation will be a different one however and these cases are judged therefore by both the internal investigators as the judicial system on a case by case basis, to determine whether use of a gun was justified.

so which you assert the police choose much less skill not greater? Are you for authentic? If human beings can't stay interior the relms of civilised society we've built they could be excluded from it or punished besides the fact that if all human beings isn't residing that way (I.e the riots) and you think of the police having much less administration over the region could help? in case you look on the British military's checklist in Iraq Afghanistan and northerly eire their function is broadly speaking battling besides the fact that if usa development and peeve retaining play a brilliant area in what they do. i think of human beings such as you are able to look on the sufferers of the riots and notice that if there replace into much less administration over the inhabitants there could be much less order. Bloody Sunday replace into one incident with one platoon interior the full military of their entire forty or so years of operation banner AND in northern eire the army replace into deployed because of the fact the police did not have the aspects to regulate. Who do you call whilst your place is being robbed? Or in case you have been attacked? think of roughly your techniques critically and don't take a single minded view on the difficulty

I think that is priceless.

And not only in the UK, in any socialist country. It would be the same in Canada too.

I think all of them will go "bang", they are ALL trained to react in that manner.

What disturbs me is your portrayal of the British police officer as an imbecile who will spend 5 minutes deciding his response to the situation.

He will only think in the manner you specified if it was a stand off , and all he has to do in stand offs is ask his immediate supervisor for confirming his response.
