It is you that were wrong.
錯的人是你。（過去式）

It is you that can be wrong.
會錯的人是你。（言下之意就是 I can't be wrong）

It can be you that were wrong.
可以是你錯了。（應該是 "It could be you that were wrong"才對，"were"是過去式，所以應該用"could"而非"can"）

It can be you that are wrong.
以上那句的現在式。 （言下之意就是“錯的可以是你不是我”）

Could it be he that has taken my pen?
通常都說 "Could it be he that took my pen?"
"Was it you that I ran into yesterday?"
"Are those the boys that set fire to your house?"
"Is Rachel the only one that has done the work?"

這個句子是正確的, 原直述句是:
It is he that has taken my pen. (肯定)
It could be he that has taken my pen. (推測)
改為疑問句是推測語氣之弱化.

母語不是英語的學習者在學英文時，很容易忽略一件事：在這個情境下，我想表達這個意思時，究竟英語母語人士通常是怎麼說的？於是，當他們說我們說的句子錯了，我們就急著研究倒底是「時態」錯了，還是「文法」錯了？其實，很可能重點都不在此。反之，我們應該設法瞭解一下，他們在相同會類似「情境」下，「使用頻率」最高的說法是甚麼？

也就是，不是把意思翻譯成很像英文的句子後，再加上「時態」、「文法」、「語意邏輯」等都沒錯，就認為那是英美人士說的「英文」了。

學習道地的 (authentic)英文 是需要終身持續學習的；同理可證，老外要學好像我們所講的道地中文，自然也沒例外。a. 以下列四句來說，如果把第一句who 後面的be動詞改為are, 而成為: It is you who are wrong. (強調是你錯了；而不是別人)
或
It is you that are wrong.
大致上，英語母語人士在須要「強調」的狀況下，會這麼說，只是發生頻率並不高。(更正理由：因為在該關代句型，關代的be動詞是隨它前面的先行詞 (即you)做變化，所以you的現在式的be動詞就是are)

以此類推：
It is I that am wrong.It is you that are wrong.It is he that is wrong.


至於b.c.d很繞舌的那三個原句的原意「你可能錯了」，他們較常用的說法應是：

You can be wrong. (錯的可能性比could大)
You could be wrong. (錯的可能性比can小)
They keep saying they're sorry, it proves they know they can be wrong. ( 現在式的推測)
He doesn't think Charles knows much, but he could be wrong. ( 現在式的推測；但可能性較低)
Of course, Bernstein thought at the time, he could be wrong. (過去式的推測)

如果你想表達的是「有可能是他拿了我的筆嗎？」，那就說：
Could it be that he has taken my pen?
或
Is it possible that he has taken my pen?
