Your next vs You're next?

I know your next implies that you will be next. I'm under the impression that "you are next" is also correct? Can someone tell me the difference between them if so?

' Your next 'does NOT imply that you will be next.......'You're next ' is short for 'You will be next '
' Your next ' refers to your next thing ...ie, your next assignment, or your next bicycle that you will buy, or your next school that you will attend.

The word "your" shows possession, so you would say "your dog", "your house", "your next move", etc.

"You're" is a contraction for you are. You took away the "a" in "are" and replaced it with the apostrophe. So think of "you're next" as "you are next". You couldn't say "you are next move in checkers" and have it make sense.

Your next could refer to your next boyfriend. You're next means you are next, like you're next in line. Hope it helps

"Your next" is incorrect. Whenever you are making that statement, you are telling the person that THEY ARE next. Therefore, it is always "You're next."

"Your" indicates possessive. As in "Get in your car".

"You're" is a contraction of "You are" as you pointed out.

"Your" shows possessive traits, such as "your car" "your girlfriend" "your job"

"You're" is a contraction for "You are" as in "You're beautiful." or "You're grammatically incorrect."
