In Massachusetts, there is a power plant. The Pioneer Valley Energy Center that generates electricity costs $400-million to build.The plan was proposed in late 2007. They hoped to build the plant in 2012. It has been delayed because of the consent of the plan and the economic downturn. As there are protesters, this project cannot be carried out smoothly. This project can create hundreds of construction jobs in the short run and permanent employments for at least 20 years.

Signatures of more than 500 residents in opposition will be sent to the Energy Management chief executive officer. Protesters' are from one of the four public schools located within 1.5 miles away from the proposed plant site. They worry that it will affect local students and the natural gases which are toxic will be exposed to the air.

Some Protesters support wind and solar energy as they cause less pollution to the environment.

Pioneer Valley Energy has solved the problem about air-quality and shown concern about the citizens.

As a matter of fact, that there had been some delay due to the permit processing,the downturn in economy and petitions of protestors. And this plant will create several hundreds of temporary construction jobs as well as permanent jobs over the period of twenty years.
Regarding this plant, there are more than 500 local residents in opposition with their signed petitions being sent to the CEO of the Energy Management Office for his discretion. The reasons of the opposition are that there is one of four schools within the radius of 1.5 mile where the proposed plant situated. Owing to this, the local residents worry about the students might be affected by toxic air released and instead they support the use of wind or solar power or wind farm which give off nothing and are free of pollution.
Once the Pioneer Valley Energy Center has solved these problems of the permit and the petitions then it will possess cleanest and most effective facility and that meet all evironmental requirement that will of its cleanest kind within the New England.
