以下 "國家" 有什麼分別 ?

其實閣下呢個問題都幾難，而不少回答都答中部份，我嘗試簡單回應

State: 其實state的政治學介定較廣泛，主要是指一個處於一個政府之下的政治社群。社會學巨匠韋伯介定state為一個擁有中央政府的強制怕政治組織，而這個政府壟斷在某個指定地域的合法使用武力的權力。

Country: 定義與state相近，不過通常是指一些獨立的主權國。而state則連沒有主權的政治社群也可包括。

Nation: 定義比state 與 country 為窄，是指一群人有共同言語，文化，種族，傳統，歷史等因素，所以有時會譯作民族。十九世紀民族主義在歐洲抬頭，更出現所謂Nation State(民族國家)的政體或政治主張。

Nation is another word for country, or the people who live in a country: The entire nation, it seemed, was watching TV(全國上下好像都在看電視). State is used for talking about a country as an organizd political community controlled by one government. It can also mean the government itself: a politically independent state(一個政治上的獨立國家)/the member states of the EU((歐盟成員國)/You get a pension from the state when you retire(退休後你可以在政府哪裡領取養老金)/State education(國家教育/公立教育). Land is more formal or literary: explorers who set out to discover new lands(啟程去發現新土地的探險者).

表示國家或國民的另一個詞是nation。State 表示國家，是指由政府控制的有組織的政治群體，也可以指政府本身。Lind是比較正式或用於文學的說法。

如henry兄唔介意，等小弟來講幾句。據小弟所知，“state”通常翻譯為“州”，即係某聯邦國家既最高地區域行政區，美國及德國中央政府以下既都係州。州既權力好大，基本上係一個國中之國，聯邦政府對佢地只有有限權力，其他野如教育、衛生、刑法都有自治權，加州就係最好既例子。

“Country”當然國家既意思，不過呢個係泛稱，唔會有國家既國號有Country字樣，好多國家都以Republic為國號，即係共和國。

“Nation”如上面一位網友所講係指一個民族，同一民族既人未必係同一個國家，如日耳曼民族(Germanic)，廣義來講甚至包括講英文既盎格魯．薩克遜族(Anglo Saxon)及法國人所屬既法蘭克族(Frank)。狹義既日耳曼人即係德意志民族(Deutsch)呢個族長久以來都分裂成幾百個國家，後來普魯士統一左除奧地利以外既其他德意志小國，成立德意志皇國，係現代德國既始組。到現時為止，德意志民族仍分裂成德國及奧地利兩個國家。

一般的用法都是一樣 ..都可以解釋為國家

state - 州 (相當於省), 由於體制的不同, 州是"自治體", 省是"受制於中央"ex. 美國 = United States = 聯合許多"州"所成立的政府

state also = 一大片土地
country = 一個自治的國家 (或是 鄉下, 鄉村) ,(比較偏向"地域")

nation = 一個文化相同的族群 ,國家民族

譯做中文中有D唔同.
State = 聯邦 好似USA就係一個state
country = 城市/國家 eg 中國
nation = 民族, eg 德國係由德意志民族組成
