美國留學（中學）

美國有冇分初中高中？
US uses a K-12 system. K is kindergarten, then it goes to Grade 1... upto Grade 12. Once you completed Grade 12, you will go to University(generally 4 years).

- Primary School is Grade K-5
- Middle school or Junior High is Grade 6-8
- High school is Grade 9-12
Well... You can say Junior high is 初中, and High school is 高中, even the system is not exactly as HK.

有冇咩試要考？
- For public school, you home address decide which shcool you will go. The local government assigns the school. There could be placement exam to see what grade/school you should assigned.
- For private school, it is up to the school.

中學有咩公開試要考？
- For public school, there is Assessment Test every year. The name of the exam is different from State to State. I think the exam starts from Grade 3 to Grade 11.
- For private school, it is up to the school's choice to take any public exam or not, and what exam to take.
- At grade 12, you will take SAT. SAT I is the primary test score used for admitting University. Some University may require you to have scores from other tests as SAT II or ACT.

去邊道最好？ 洛杉機好唔好ga?
- It depends on what you want.

治安邊道好？會唔會有危險？
- Usuaully countryside has better 治安 than major city.

最好中幾過去？（我而家中三）
- It depends on your situation. In general, the best time is to complete high school in HK, and go for University.

如果真係要去讀，最好幾耐開始搵agent同學校？
- As early as possible. For applying Univeristy, for school starts at Sept 2012, it may have deadline as early as Dec 2011. For private high school, it is up to the school.

有冇話邊間agent好D？
- No idea... I live in US.

大部分是：
初中 Junior High 7 & 8 grades
高中 High School 9 ~ 12 grades
some area 7 ~ 9 & 10 ~ 12
如果妳沒有美國的PR，Private School is only solution for you
Public school 不會給入學許可 I-20
我之前就是住 LA.... 超多香港人，不用擔心會孤單～
申請好的私立高中需要考 SSAT
大部分只考 SLEP 「中學英文能力分級測驗」
