What is my contact lense prescription?

Few days ago I just had an eye test,
Right eye: sph-1.25 cyl-2.75 axis-175
Left eye: sph-2.50 cyl-1.50 axis-180

I want to wear monthly toric lenses, I've looked through it online and I don't see any that does cyl-2.75 and cyl-1.50 together.
So just wondering whether I could just use lower/higher cyl? e.g. instead of -2.75 use -2.50?
Would that work?

And also, what would my contact lense prescription be?
Thanks very much!!

Surely you don't expect to be choosing a toric lens on your own , and making up your own prescription for them...and thinking they will work ?

You don't know if the cyl on the right should be dropped to - 2.25...and the left to - 1.25....and what axis to choose , especially for the right , because 175 axis isn't made either....If you choose 5 degrees off the wrong way , it will be wrong by 10 degrees and be blurry.

You also can't know how the lenses will rotate on your eyes, which could make another 5 or 10 degrees difference.

Even those of us who have been fitting contacts for 30 years and more wouldn't order toric lenses without doing a trial fitting first. Out of 3 different brands, only one may work correctly .

It is illegal for any site to sell them to you without a proper prescription for them anyway , which is a good thing because there is a 90% chance you would get it wrong and be wasting your money anyway.

Torics are too complicated to get a proper fit for someone with no training to prescribe on their own.

Go through your optometrist or optician to get a proper fit to start with.

No...just no! With your type of prescription, a contact lens fit is ABSOLUTELY essential! Not only does this determine the right type of lenses for you, it also helps measure the size of lenses needed, the correct power, axis and establishes wear time. The last thing you want to do is get contact lenses that aren't fitting right, or they're the wrong power. It can lead to incredible discomfort.

an -0.25 difference is very minor, and I doubt very much that you will notice any difference in dropping an 0.25 or upping it. Its the sphere part of the rx that makes more of a difference to your vision.
參考: Used to work at a leading opticians and a lot of the contact lens opticians would substitute like this, as minor changes won't effect it drastically.

i don't have been glasses yet i understand imaginitive and prescient differences over an entire life. The Optometrist pronounced this to prepare me to placed on glasses interior the arriving years. Even people who do no longer placed on glasses imaginitive and prescient isn't at their ideal whilst: they are drained, emotionally wrought, dehydrated, have remote places products of their eyes (airborne dirt and dust, eye lash, and so on. ), eye strained from consistent analyzing (retaining a fixed concentration), malnourished, bobbing up cataracts or macular degeneration or different undemanding eye ailments.... it is a controversy of looking after your eyes so as that they do no longer visit pot unnecessarily early.

footprinz is really right. You have no hope of getting a toric to work without help. The fit is absolutely critical and you need trials.

Amy - would you get your Wedding Dress made from your 'T-shirt' and 'jeans' measurements?

Maybe you think your wedding dress is more important than your eyes and vision?

Go back to your eyecare prof. and ask to have CL's fitted properly - with proper sizing, curvatures, materials and surface finishes.
