Three celestail bodies,x,y,z,are collinear at a certain moment.The mass of x and that of z are 2.98x10^23kg and 4.14x10^27kg respectively,and the distance between x and y is 6.67x10^11m.if the resultant gravitational force acting on y is zero,find the distance between y and z

Since gravitational force acting on y = 0,i.e. Gm1m2/r^2 = Gm2m3/r^2
(2.98x10^23)/(6.67x10^11)^2 = (4.14x10^27)/r^2
r = 7.86x10^13 m (corr to 2 d.p.)
Hence,
the distance between y and z = 7.86x10^13 m
